And don't forget the 36$ upgrade fee that they charge and don't like to waive that fee

I use the rumor touch and don't expect it to act like a smartphone because of the touchscreen. Overall its great for calls and text but the sideways slider may not be as easy as the vertical slider of the remarq. Ps you can buy the remarq for $50 directly from sprint. Its certified refurbished and it doesn't count towards ur upgrade when u buy it from them.
You will only see the option to buy the refurbs if you have an eligible upgrade.

There is a new Sprint Feature (a/k/a: dumb) LG phone.
The "LG Rumor Reflex" appears to be very similar to the LG Rumor Touch (same slide QWERTY Keyboard, reselution, camera, etc) and it SHOULD work on the old (F&F, F&C, SERO PLAIN) plans.

Anyone with expirience yet?

The Pixi runs WebOS and needs a new plan.
The Centro runs PalmOS and does not need a new plan.
Does anyone know if the pixi requires a 10$ smartphone fee

Little OT. related though.

I have the old sprint free & clear plan which as you know doesn't supprt any new smartphones (other than the Touch pro 2 and Blackberry Tour 9630 - which i currently use but hate it...)
I have purchased a used sprint blackberry bold touch 9930 and I would looooove to activate the blackberry bold touch 9930 (or any other good android smartphone) on my current plan 'without' having to upgrade the plan to one of their expensive ED plans.

I have 3 spare sprint phones: BB Tour 9630(another 1) , LG Rumor Touch & LG Lotus. They're not in use and all have clean ESNs.

My question:
is there a way to replace the MEID/ESN/IMED etc. on the New Bold 9930 - with the codes from 1 of my not-in-use phones?
Basically, making the sprint system think i'm activating a Tour, LG Rumor, or Lotus (pending which phone i steel the codes from) - when in fact it'll b a Bold 9930?

Is there a way of doing that?

Not really.

And even if you did BB data prob wont work.

I have heard people having success doing so.

2. If I can trick the system that it's a blackberry 9630 - why wouldn't I get the same bb service I'm currently getting on my 9630 - when in fact it will be the 9930 with changed IDs (ESN, MEID, etc) from a 9630.

There is a program (which sells for 700 bucks or so) called "CDMA TOOL" by DFS.
It's mainly for page plus, metro and virgin mobile dealers to flash CDMA phones so it can work with these non-contract plans.

Anyone with expirience with it?

Maybe Elikay

But Flashing phones has nothing to do with swapping ESN's

Yea.. Maybe "flashing" is not the right term. I'm talking of totally changing the entire code architecture of the phone (all codes: such as ESN, MEID, PRL Profile, etc.)

Let's wait for @Elikay to chime in..

I don't know about that program. Though there definitely is software out there capable of doing it, the chances of someone doing it themselves is nil. Most forums would not let this get too far as it is potentially illegal. Getting data to work is hard since you'd need to clone the username and password as well (which you don't know). Anyway,  unless you know of a techie who can do it, there isn't much of a chance that you'll get it done.

Well put. The user ID thing confuses me though..
If I port and change all the devices codes wouldn't it automatically become t e user and pass from the phone in porting them from?

Will the Centro 2 work on a non smartphone plan? Also are there any better options out there for a basic non smartphone?
