JBL Link 10 & JBL Link 20 HELP!

I was thrilled to see THIS deal on DDMS as I've seen first hand how great the JBL portable speakers are.

It worked great as a bluetooth speaker for a few minutes (playing a shiur) but chromecast on my phone sensed it and prompted me to open the Google Home app to complete setup.
After registering a google account it started to update the software but seems to have gotten bricked halfway through. Lights are still on but none of the buttons work. Inserting a pin into the little hole for resetting did nothing.

Any ideas?

Thanks. I tried all of those. None worked. :(

Called Google Home CS and spoke with them for 20 minutes (although I suspect it's a bunch of robots forwarding to each other) she/ it said 4 or 5 times that "there are known issues with the Google Home app"  "I am only trained in Google Home and the google Home app products."

Tried everything there.
Mine wont even reboot. Zero response.
Stuck at :
- Power light on
-Bluetooth light on
-Wifi connected light on even after unplugging router
The google assistant dots are off.

Update: Let the battery drain completely. Plugged it back in and seems to work fine.
