In general lots of companies have such guarantees on their products.
I think they keep their margins safe by figuring that most people won't bother

Yep. I remember some yeshivas were banned from company product refunds. After coke sending hundreds of free coupons to the yeshiva I think they caught on.

As well as many other companies.
