Yes, both the politics of the parents, and the politics of the local governments and school boards.
So they will put that ahead of the safety of their own children?

no they will put that ahead of the growth of their own children.
A school board in FL sent a letter out saying that food programs will only be available to on-campus students. Definitely a factor.
So the growth of their child is more important than the safety of their child?
politics will figure into the decision but it might not be te parents' politics but rather whoever is making the ultimate decision to open or close schools.
