Air France - Flying Blue "query is too complex"
« on: January 11, 2015, 10:50:59 PM »
I'm trying to make an award booking TLV-BCN and the system lets me through until the confirmation page.

It even gives me a confirmation number but says that the booking is awaiting payment and is only on hold.

The error message that I get is "Your query is too complex to be booked online. Please contact one of our Air France ticket offices."

The booking is being made for two people, neither of which is the account holder.

I tried using the account holder's credit card as well as the passenger's card.

I spoke to three different reps and they all told me that I need to make this booking at the airport.

Anyone else have this issue and how did you end up making the reservation?

Wanted to update you all regarding this (if anyone is interested).

It finally went through. I must have tried 20 times.

These are the things I did differently the last time.

I waited almost 24 hours before trying again.
Didn't choose seats.
Used a passengers credit card with only the passenger's name on it. No business.

Not sure why it worked, just happy that it did without going to airport.

Does Flying Blue not let you piece together a flight if it doesn't show up as an option when searching?
For example there is a JFK-CDG-TLV flight and I want to add a DL flight from ORD to JFK and I keep getting told that's not an option.

Took 6 times until someone would even attempt to do it and then they couldn't book it because the first leg was in coach.
Boy I'm spoiled with some other airlines.

Having the same issue again.

What worked last year isn't working now.

Any suggestions?

Getting the same thing now, was told to go down to airport. Account holder is actually giving the tickets to his employee (no selling involved)
Any other way besides going to airport?

US phone number is horrible.

Call the Amsterdam or Frankfurt office. Don't mention anything about the hold. Ask to make a new booking.

Thanks.
Passenger is actually on the way to JFK to get it ticketed at the office, will they cause any issues there?
Is it better to try to call other offices now?

Never bothered to go down to airport. International offices always worked for me. Let us know how it goes.

Only issue I can think of is they'd need to verify the account holder, but that can easily be done on the phone.

Called up and they want 20 EUR per passenger. Online it's $5.

I assume I could've booked and then called office to ticket and maybe they would only want $5 but the passenger is at JFK so we'll see how that goes.

Passenger went to JFK and got it all ticketed. Took some time, the agent was on the phone clearing something up. They kept the documents That were brought in (letter from account holder, account holder id)

Datapoint: happened to me as well. just made a nother booking online and also did not confirm, so I called  Flying blue customer service in Australia (through Google Voice it's just one cent per minute) and the 1st booking she wasn't able to confirm so she canceled it, but the 2nd she was able to confirm and ticketed.
