Israel remits taxes to the PA, the PA funds Pay to Slay, and "civil servants" in Gaza, too, which includes Hamas. This is part of what Yehuda57 is saying with the PR war.  At times, Israel has withheld the funds, but always buckles under US pressure to keep on giving it.
Unless I am mistaken this was money Qatar>Hamas. Don't blame this on the US.

I'm not saying this money was pressure from US, although I think it is (started after the 2009 Hamas war, IIRC). The pressure to remit taxes to the PA even though they incite terror, many of their security forces are terrorists, and they find terror, was from the US, even though they have the Taylor Force Act which prohibits the US from funding the PA until they stop Pay for Slay.

I understand what you saying. I am asking did an Israel official tell Qatar it could keep giving money to Hamas. This was as late as a few weeks before the Oct 7 attack.

Presumably it was money sent to Gaza as in aid for the Gazans

I'm assuming so. It was since the 2009 war,  officially to rebuild Gaza.

Everyone has an out now. Iran can claim nothing was hit and Israel can say they struck back.

"They made an attempt to fly quadcopters"? What is that even supposed to mean?

A bad translation of drones, I guess.

Please tell me this is not true: An Israel representative told Quater to keep giving money to Hamas.

1) Aside from being an internationally recognized terrorist group, Hamas was also the de facto government in charge of Gaza, including infrastructure and social aid. You've seen the uproar post 10/7 when Israel insisted on checking aid trucks going into a war zone. Can you imagine the blowback if Israel hindered aid pre 10/7? The funds weren't given for rockets and bunkers. The official reasoning was aid and infrastructure support.

2) Pre 10/7, there was a period of relative calm. Israel has historically been known to overpay for peace, or whatever distorted version of "peace" the terrorists give them. They aren't alone in that practice. Every one of their allies has done, and continues to do, the same. Including the US. (Maybe even "especially the US.")

3) Joe is a blowhard Monday morning QB. How much money and how many concessions have WE given to Iran and other terrorists in the last 15 years? But sure, let's make it a Bibi conspiracy.

In short, this shouldn't surprise anyone; just business as usual. Unfortunately, we're now living with the consequences of a bad theology. What should make your blood boil is that we're still subscribing to this faulty theology...

Joe has been consistent on Hamas.
Giving money to Iran is not the same as giving money directly to Hamas.

The US funded and armed the Taliban.

I'm hardly an historian, and I'm kind of pumpkin brained right now, but I'm sure they're are dozens of such instances where the US backed terrorists and murderous regimes only to regret it later on.

This is part of what I've been saying, Israel has been making stupid decisions to gain favor and part by imaginary rules since 1948. They need to start behaving like their lives depend on it.
