Qatar is an interesting one. IIRC it is one of the first Arab states that didn't officially have relations with Israel to host an Israeli interests office of some kind, which was subsequently shut down.

It is an important US ally, hosting important US military bases, yet has a rather warm relationship with Iran.

They are somewhat of a rogue wealthy nation, supporting various Islamic groups around the Middle East and North Africa, and more recently seem to be quite closely aligned with the region's loose canon - Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. This led to the Saudi led embargo on Qatar to which the UAE and Egypt ascribe.

OTOH the Israelis seem to be cooperating and welcoming their financial safety net for Gaza, seemingly keeping some stability there.

I honestly don't see that one happening as long as Erdoğan and Iran are flexing their muscles over regional hegemony.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

The Israelis begged the Americans to keep financing Gaza but Trump's hard right circle stopped it and let Qatar step into the vacuum.

IINM the Israelis were working with the Qataris on this prior to Trump assuming office.

What's your source for your allegations?

It was widely reported at the time, here's one article a quick google search found.

While some donors like Canada, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates are stepping in to offset part of what the United States is cutting, UNRWA will still likely have to reduce services.

Several months ago, President Trump rejected a request by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to allow U.S. aid to be transferred to Palestinian security forces and told aides that Netanyahu should pay for it, U.S. officials told me.

The title of this article is a great reminder of how utterly wrong the FP establishment consensus was on the Mid-East

WOW!!!!

https://en.globes.co.il/en/article-agreement-signed-to-operate-israel-uae-oil-pipeline-1001346340

There's an interesting twist to this story, which I don't see addressed. IIRC Iran has joint ownership with Israel of the Eilat-Ashkelon pipeline.

ETA: It seems like there might have been some change, with another corporation set up (eapc.co.il) that manages the assets of the original corporation. It's very complex, and I don't have the time now to research it.

There was a big article written in one of the Israeli financial newspapers a month or two ago that I enjoyed reading. It was an in depth analysis about a possible oil pipeline that would release the gulf states from the threat of Iranian attacks against oil tankers in the Hurmuz strait. Such a pipeline from the Gulf to Europe with Israel as the focal point of transfer would arguably be safer and cheaper and would benefit both countries greatly.

Which could possibly have been THE major drive for the entire agreement. It would be a total game changer for the entire oil transport industry by cutting travel time and avoiding the Suez Canal besides the Straits of Hormuz.

Israel and Bahrain sign a formal deal for regular flights between the countries, weeks after the Arab country agreed to normalize ties with the Jewish state.

According to the reported deal, the countries can each operate up to 14 weekly passenger flights between Ben Gurion Airport and Bahrain International Airport, in addition to unlimited flights between Manama and Eilat.

The deal also allows for five weekly cargo flights to each country.

I think it's universally accepted that Iran is the major impetus in getting the deal done. This is merely another detail.

A new pipeline is definitely something workable (though I would assume the Israelis will have learned something from their historical experience of a join pipeline with a foreign nation on their own soil). If it's the same pipeline it would be interesting how a pipeline built in partnership with Iran (Sha's regime) to bypass the Suez canal, would be used by Arab nations to avoid the Iranians.

Was anyone able to find updated information about the ownership? Is Iran out, or are they still entitled to their share of the fees paid to use the pipeline?

President Trump has just announced that at least five additional countries want to join in a peace deal with Israel, and says Saudi Arabia is one of them. Says there will be a big signing event at the White House.

Saudi Arabia is really a game changer. And trump wouldn't have said they name publicly if they weren't close to signing imho.
