Second time covid was a breeze in comparison to the first. Had a light headache for a day and half. That's it. Waited 2 weeks to post in case I'd lose smell/taste again, but that didn't happen.
First time was early March 2020.
Only tested this time because I was exposed to someone who tested positive a few days before.

Is this basically what most people are experiencing round 2?
No vax  :)
I had the opposite. First time (march 2020) just lost smell for two weeks. Second tone-about 3 months ago - was wiped out for a week.

Antigen tests are not very good for Omicron.
I've taken pcr tests when I was exposed to covid and not feeling well and they all came back negative -yet, my antibodies afterwards shot up..

I would take an antibody test, but I don't have a recent reference. They were very high for the last several antibody tests I took.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Nobody says any of the tests are perfect.

Nobody says any of the tests are perfect.

It’s also hard to time optimal testing. With the Omicron infection cycle being so much shorter, that time window for rapid detection could be lower than when these tests were developed.

DW tells me that she was told yesterday at the doctor's office that COVID-19 and Strep are all over Crown Heights.

Great.

Me and some other family members were sick (really mild, not COVID “mild” a few weeks ago, and I wonder if we had a piece of this. I tested with an at-home rapid at the time and it was negative. This is after two COVID infections in 2021 for our entire household.

In Lakewood too apparently, from what I've heard. Hatzolah even had a Covid-19 call this week.

I can't find all the posts now, but it seems like every time somebody in your family goes to the doctor, they come back with reports of the whole crown heights having it...

If the doctor is right that the whole Crown Heights has it, then it makes sense that people in ExGingi’s house would have it then too. So it adds up.

After feeling constantly tired for several days, followed by some muscle pain and feeling cold (despite it not being cold around), I thought that maybe I got reinfected with COVID. I had no fever, and no other symptoms (some other family members were not feeling well with fever, and suspected strep).
@ExGingi How are you feeling now?  What did you decide last week re: steps to take, testing, masking?

At the time of writing I was already feeling better, so didn't do anything. One of my grandchildren tested positive for covid (they don't live here but spend many weekends here). My daughter who tested positive seems to be better. I think she might be going to school tomorrow (was told by the doctor that she can go to school one she feels better).

According to that summary of current recommendations that I posted last week, she should wear a mask in social settings (school) until 10 days after her first symptom.
If she wants to avoid possibly infecting others.
Which I realize may not be a thing in CH.

Cloth mask enough? Or KN95?
