I don't know about that, but masks and capacity limits are probably our new normal for a long while.

Isn't Hong Kong part of China? How are we still believing anything that comes out of there to have any correlation to reality?

Lol. HKU is one of the most reliable Covid authorities in the world.

SARS was discovered by a HKU professor. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malik_Peiris

HKU was amongst the first to establish Covid-19 is transmitted from human to human in early Jan before the WHO & China.

Hong Kong has more reliable virus data coming out than the US Federal government and many state governments do.

Not a very high bar unfortunately. I trust China more.

I believe they were only confirmed by process of eliminating other options. This case seems to be confirmed based on identifying it as a different strain than the first infection. Not that I don't believe reinfection has happened many times, and even a few within our communities, but I think this confirmation takes it to the next level.

Also, the CH cases are presumed because there was no positive test for the first infection. This is truly proven scientifically, but if they are different strains then we should question whether this newer strain is as infectious and as dangerous.

There is more than one CH case. IINM they are now at least 3 confirmed cases of reinfection, and one infection of someone presumed to be safe by virtue of having been a caretaker of others while they were infected.

Fixed to plural. I wasn't careful about that.

I still can't understand the medical theory behind equating infected and exposed that has been coming out of CH.

I think it's in conjunction with assumptions regarding T-cells giving people immunity. If someone experienced prolonged exposure and didn't get sick, people are quick to point to the T-cell studies as an explanation.

Even if every single assumption of those theories are true it does not equate exposure to infection. There are so many other possible reasons that someone may not have gotten infected that they can't be automatically presumed to be immune.

I don't disagree. "Exposed doesn't equal infected" and "exposed doesn't equal immunity" have been oft repeated mantras around here since April.

That wouldn't jive well with packed shuls, no masks, and no distancing.

Why not?
I think there's an assumption by most that everyone in Lakewood or Brooklyn either had it, or is immune from it.
