Link?
The only thing I see on his site is about Kahlua having no plans of becoming kosher.
i emailed him,
1. has the status of kahlua changed in the last few years? is there anywhere where its recommended?
and he responded
1.       When purchased in Mexico it is now fine again

after i saw he quoted in his september newsletter,
"Dear Rabbi Eidlitz,

I'm confirming that the Kahlua bottled in Mexico is authorized as Parve. The Entelmann´s products bear an unauthorized KMD symbol.

Sincerely yours,
Moshe Perets
Kashrut Maguen David
Mexico "

i was quite close to doing a mexico run until something came up

So who's going to be the first DDF'er going to SAN that will cross the border to buy some Kahlua?

Is there really no way to buy any Mexican bottled Kahlua in the US?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

You can declare it. I can't imagine it would be that big of a deal.

I believe you just pay a 3% duty after the first free liter you are allowed.  On a $10 bottle that will add just 30 cents.

Although the CRC doesn't list it (I am from Chicago), according to the current London Beit Din kosher list, which is good enough for me, it is Kosher other then if bought in the USA.  You can see their entire list at:

http://www.theus.org.uk/jewish_living/keeping_kosher/keeping_kosher/kosher_product_search_results

Make sure you read any special notes attached, as in the case of Kahlua - the products that have an explanation mark in a pink circle after the last column. Scrolling over the explanation mark reveals the special note.

Re the London Beit Din site, Type 'Liqueur' in the search and the entire list will come up. Also, in my original post - s/b 'exclamation' point!  ::)

You left off the asterisks
** Certified by other agencies when bearing kashrus symbol.

They dont mention who certifies it, though. I guess it might be one of the Mexican hashgachas

It's under "Kashrut Maguen David" as moish said.  I don't think they put their logo on the bottles though.

On the same topic diff drink.

On the star list it shows that Cristal Aguardiente or as they spell it aguadriente is not kosher.

Does anyone know if that's only the Cristal brand? Does anyone know of a kosher aguardiente?
Its an anise flavored drink. Much diff then Arak. It is the official drink of Colombia. any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Anybody have any updated info on this topic? Is Kahlua sold in Mexico currently kosher? And if yes, does it need to have a specific kashrus logo on it to be kosher, or all Kahlua sold in Mexico is kosher regardless of the labeling?

It is kosher.

Kahlua: Approved: Please note that Kahlua Liqueur, which states on the label, that it is “BOTTLED in Mexico” is now acceptable.
Labels which state “PRODUCT of Mexico” but are “Bottled in the USA” may not be used at the present time.
