Temporary Rooms
« on: June 21, 2021, 11:10:09 PM »
I need to create two bedrooms in a basement temporarily. In the future I will probably be getting permits & doing the work properly but I need a solution for the next few months. Most basic way of doing it would probably be a splitting a big area with a T to create two bedrooms. I’m looking for different options such as curtains, room dividers or now I’ve come across pressurized walls. If anybody has any experience with any of these options & has a recommendation please share. Thank You

2x4s and sheetrock (or metal studs)

For a number of years BMG moved walls around downstairs in what is now Bais Shalom each zman. The wall was up or down in about an hour.

What about something that will cost less than $10,000?

pressurized walls

A DDFer who isn't very active anymore told me he did this in an apartment he rented.

If we’re doing work like that we want it to be permanent & it sprang seem like we can find anybody willing to do it right away & we run into a problem with permits…

If you can ask him what he thought about it, cost & what company he used that would be great.

I’m wondering if there’s any reason it’s worse than regular walls of Sheetrock & 2x4s?

I have had such walls put up by a handyman in my unfinished basement.

pretty basic work. It's not exactly skilled labor.
Shouldn't take you more than a day or two on your own

use aluminum/ galvanized steel studs...they come with predrilled holes for electric. About $5 for 8ft. Wood studs are around $7-$8

Lumber futures prices dropped by more than 1/3 over the past month.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Have retail prices come down at all, or just futures?
