Not even. You are able to choose between them each time the device bouts up.
IIRC it was downloading the European firmware instead of the American one and it could not even be removed by factory reset. Only way to get the radio back was to install the American OS --- which was not publicly available for download so essentially the only way to turn the radio back on was to mail back the mp3 player.
Does anyone have ideas for the best way to play music at home without a tablet etc. MP3 players keep breaking and they are annoying. I miss my old fashioned CD player
What's wrong with a cheap phone or tablet?
A good mp3 player...I'm using the Fiio devices and quite satisfied.Everything breaks off children use it, your old CD player and well... But for such a device it's obviously well worth to but an accidental extended warranty.
Fiio is very good quality albeit super xpensive.
X1 2nd Gen ($79.99) or M3K ($59.99) aren't really "super expensive" IMHO.
For a mp3 player in 2020 that's pretty expensive.
2 broken SanDisk and you're there
I don't believe that's correct, all the firmwares are readily available on SanDisk website. Link to non radio firmwaresLink to regular firmwareETA: I believe what you referring to is if you have the regular firmware you can select your region, and possibly one of the regions gets rid of the radio, then doing a reset would get the radio back. But if you have the non radio firmware that shouldn't work.
Does anyone know if there is firmware for the Clip Sport? It's not on the list...
There isn't. Though I know people (possiblly Tag) were able to take out the antenna.
Are there any good quality/durable mp3 players that have a speaker? I need something that'll survive my kids dropping it on the floor, and I took a quick look around online and didn't find anything from any brand that I recognized.
You may be better off buying a separate speaker with Bluetooth or aux.
Or maybe get an old iPhone and put it in a good case...
Some portable speakers can play straight off the sd card, with almost no navigation
