I think it sounds good, & i was thinking of buying a netbook

Anyone know how their rewards work, if its possible to redeem them for cash...

its not that easy to find. if you look carefully, under checking solutions, it says it in bright red letters. in some browsers you might have to scroll down an inch, though.

well maybe one reason is that if u got a spare 100k sitting around then u might as well get a laptop for that

no - thats only to wave the service fee of $50 - nothing to do with the offer - and the fees waived for the first 12 months anyway

i called up - they said no minimum opening deposit

I just did it this morning. A DBA or seperate Taxpayer ID was not needed. Just said was a sole propreiorship and bringing my business accounts statements from Chase and KeyBank probably helped. Fill out the form first online and then take them into a branch, much faster.

Update: I just got an request from HSBC for a fax of my professional license/registration.

i did this today - cause i went into the branch last week, they told me to do it online, i messed up printing it and called to ask what to do, they said go to a branch - so today i did it, i have a tax id and registered business so it was no prob. - the lady forgot to put in the promotion code, said she'll do it tomorrow - so basically you can do it online or in the branch...

whats that? w/ the state?

with citi i never got around to faxing it - they kept calling, eventually i faxed it and they said they didnt get it - i have to send it again or they're going to close my account (which would be bad) but basically its been a few months since i opened that account - if there would have been a promotion i for sure would have gotten it by now...
