How to collect a big amount of UR points (Chase)
« on: December 02, 2011, 09:51:42 AM »
Let me begin by apologizing for not reading the many threads containing hundreds of pages that are written about this topic (with about 50% of off topic posts in them). I did, however,  read a large chunk of it all including posts on dansdeals.com and many comments. I'm trying to see if I got this right and hopefully it will be of help to others as well:

I would like to acumulate as many Ultimate Rewards points as possible, mainly on the signup bonus. I would like to apply for 3 cards total.
I will buy AMEX giftcards for the spending treshold but on a daily basis I'm not a big spender, maybe $2000 a month, if that changes the answer.

I found that my best 3 choices are: 1)Chase Ink Bold, 2)Chase Sapphire and 3) Chase Freedom consumer (for the cashback into UR but, as I said, I'm not a big spender so maybe instead of the Freedom there's something more worthwile as in a good, even non-UR signup bonus?)
Please kindly advise me if those are the best choices and if I'm doing things right. Again I apologize for asking when I'm sure the info is out there but it would literally take me like a full day to read it and process it all.

Thank you!

P.S.1 I am planing on doing the 3-browser method, any tips for that?
P.S.2 https://applynowdc1.chase.com/FlexAppWeb/renderApp.do?SPID=DN52 Does this offer come in the form of 30K UR points or just $300 cash?

What about SP? I believe the $3K for 50K offer for Chase is probably the best way to get started with UR especially with the additional 7% bonus at the end of the year and 2X points for food and travel. If you need help meeting spending reqs use Amazon Payments (I believe there is only 1 post to read up on).

50K CO/UA is better then 30K Freedom if you're just after the signup bonus.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

50K CO/UA is better then 30K Freedom if you're just after the signup bonus.
Thanks!!
So are those basically gonna be my biggest and most valuable signup bonuses with Chase? Namely, Ink bold, Sapphire and Continental/united?
By the way I cannot find a link for Continental or United for 50K... Do you recommend one over the other or are both exactly the same and the same chance of getting?

Also, once I get my bonus with CO/UA, can I switch the card to a Freedom?

Thanks again.

Link please?
Also, once I get my bonus with CO/UA, can I switch the card to a Freedom? Or alternatively, can I do 4 browser method for the freedom as well?

PS. I have a BA card and a priority club, both from Chase, does it affect anything?

No idea. Has anyone ever done a 4BM? In any case, Chase is unlikely to to approve more then 2 in one month (there are exceptions).
