Google keep is pretty decent.
Wunderlist which was bought and folded into Microsoft to do, is the best I've ever found. Microsoft hasn't ruined it yet

I haven't used it since like a year before they bought it, at that point it was kind of clumsy. Has it improved since then?

Maybe I had too much in it at once :)
It was good for simple things like shopping lists, but if you want subtasks, assigning things to multiple users, custom fields, and other power features that a business would enjoy, I'd lean towards ClickUp.

If you are looking for Project Management, I like Trello for basic use. If you want more in-depth and expansive, I would suggest Asana.
