Saw this in my inbox yesterday.  1:1 bonus tier miles in addition to regular redeemable miles up to 20K (5K short of first status level) on all transfers in.

Agreed, this is more of a bonus if you planned on transferring anyway or already have a flight or two booked that will get you to Silver with the 20K bonus (I think even a single Alitalia r/t in Y JFK-TLV would be enough, maybe even Air Serbia JFK-TLV).

Does the new agreement with the UAE change the value proposition here (perhaps for TLV-based folks)?

I got this in my email today from Etihad:

"Dear Moe8555,

When you’re ready to travel again, we want to make sure that you’re able to enjoy all of the exclusive rewards and benefits of being a Bronze member – with added flexibility too.

We'll help you upgrade your tier
We’ve reduced our Tier Miles and Tier Segments requirements to 80% until 30 June 2021 to help you easily upgrade your tier."

So does this mean Silver will only be 20K instead of 25K, and this transfer promotion will get me Silver?

Following up on my last post (the last post in this thread before this one):

Etihad confirmed I will be upgraded to Silver, so this promotion ended up being quite interesting.  They are also depositing free tier miles every month through the end of the year if you have status with them, so I will now also start to receive those (compound interest/ריבית דריבית!).

Maybe it will come in handy on the inagurual TLV-AUH flight, which I hope to be on.
