4K LED Monitor Headaches?
« on: September 21, 2020, 03:35:01 PM »
I currently have 3 x 1080p LED monitors.

Took advantage of this deal with AMEX Plat credits to try upgrading one screen to 4K: https://www.dansdeals.com/shopping-deals/electronics/dell/dell-ultrasharp-27-4k-usb-c-monitor-100-dell-promo-credit-485-99-low-237-39-business-platinum-cardholders/

I couldn't stand the 4K screen. I mean, it was truly stunning with vibrant colors and crisp letters, but it gave me a headache!
Tried playing with settings for font size, brightness, etc. Didn't help and back it goes, though Dell did make a nice retention offer to keep it.

Anyone else not a fan of 4K monitors?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

How does the pixel density compare to your current setup? I've been using LG Ultrafine 4K and 5K monitors (218 ppi) since they were released with no issue.

Windows still doesn't have great High DPI support. Did you notice a difference in different applications? I'm pretty sure Edge has better high DPI support than Chrome. Also, Windows 2004 has also improved high DPI support somewhat, iirc.
