Chase sapphire preferred 80,000 UR sign up bonus

I went thru the comments on DDMS and it looks like someone else said that the link is only 70000, to which @Dan responded that thats all it is. Im referring an immediate family member, is there any reason not to do the referral and get 70000 + 15000 or should i do the 80000 (besides for helping @Dan which i would if not for the 5000 point discrepancy)

Previously the refferal went up to 80k a while after the original offer.
But definitely consider using Dan's link.

I currently have a reserve. Recieved bonus more than 4 years ago. Will this work: Downgrade reserve to freedom, apply for preferred, upon approval upgrade freedom back to reserve?
Also if this will work, how will annual fees be affected? I paid 450 this year for reserve already.

Hi,
If I downgrade my reserve in order to get this promotion, when will I be able to upgrade it again? Only after getting the bonus?
And when will they charge the annual fee for the re-upgraded card? Right now the fee would be in September.

You can upgrade at any time. You’ll get a pro-rated refund when you downgrade and a new fee when you upgrade.

I don’t think you are able to have the preferred and reserve the same time so you’ll have to upgrade the preferred not the freedom

How long does it take to receive the card from time of approval? I ask because I’m interested in applying today and I will probably use it to pay property tax due 4/10.

What you would need to do is downgrade your CSR to freedom flex, apply for a CSP keep it for over a year and then upgrade your CSP to a CSR.

(Dan claims it can be done sooner YMMV HUCA)
