I'm pretty sure an auto loan wouldn't count towards it.

nothing to do with inquires. it's about opened accounts (and yes it's only credit card accounts).

So I can know the rule by checking my credit report account to see how many cards I have opened and approved in the last 24 months or 2 years?  $95 fee with high spend req is bit too hard

No. From DDMS:

You won’t get approved for this card if you currently have an active Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Preferred, or Sapphire card. However you can change those cards to a Freedom Unlimited or Freedom Flex card, wait a few days, and then apply for a Sapphire Preferred card.

Ugh I wish I were able to figure out when my sign up bonus posted 4 years ago. I closed the card and now there's no way to find out...I wish I knew which department to contact for this; regular CS was no help.

Why not give it a test. Try to apply. No hard pull if not eligible anyway.

Not concerned about approval, I'll be approved either way. Issue is whether I'm eligible for the sign up bonus.

You won't get approved or get a hard pull if it hasn't been 48 months. It'll auto reject.
