In English you need to activate the service on that phone for 60 days. If after the rules went into effect you'll qualify for the 60 day unlock, though you might as well get a free 8k worth of points by creating a tracfone account and adding my referral code within 14 days of activating service, enough for 4 months of free phone service, though if you have no use for it, either sell it(by gifting it and charging 10-$20 per month) or gift it to someone who has use for it.
Find a 90 day plan which i think is the cheapest at 15-20$, and make the money back after the points post by finding someone on a tracfone plan and gifting them the points and charge them if you like, to at least cover the cost of your phone plan to get it unlocked. so basically your waiting 60 days but didn't pay anything. Good Luck, hope that helps.

will this code work for net10 or totally wireless

How do I do this, do I have to first have active service before using the referral code?

Nope, think it will only work on TracFone.
Though if you buy the phone on total wireless or net10, just rebrand it to TracFone and then you can use the referral code.
my code above shall work for 8k, if it doesn't work i have another code that should work.

How do I do this, do I have to first have active service before using the referral code?
Yes you need to activate a phone plan with TracFone, and then you can go to the rewards section and make an account.  Then within 14 days of activating service you can enter a referral code, rather you must enter within 14 days.
Its an old deal ,but explained what needed to be done, and now my code is 8k.

Will this work on renewed and refurbished phones? Since the actual phone was opened when the waiting period was a year

In my experience some of the renewed phones were never actually activated. I have also activated a bunch of the renewed phones that were previously activated, I will try to report back when 60 days pass. (Aprox 30 days from now)

as long as you activate new service.
It says new service, not a new phone.

Buy it from another company and then rebrand it to tracfone. They're sister companies.

Just curios what did did tell them and what did they check to confirm? That you activated it after a certain date and saw it was 60 days since?

Did you have a chance to try a tmobile sim card or at&t if it works with calling, texts, mms and data?

What makes you ask these questions?
I've tried so many phones which were unlocked to be used elsewhere and many things like meantioned didn't work properly.
I have a few lg classics lying around and would go about the hassle to get it unlocked if I know fissure it works.

I actually had a few tmobile family mobile walmart ones which probably would have worked. Unless they're all the same as the Verizon/tracfone ones.
Hence I'm asking if it really works.
