Beware The F/U F/R

I spoke to someone tonight begging for help with AMEX, who shut down all his cards.

Why did they close his cards?

He was disputing a charge and got angry at having a hard time communicating with an offshore rep, and he told the rep F/U. The rep said he was going to report him and disconnected.

Shortly thereafter all of his accounts were closed, his points were forfeited, and he was told not to apply for an AMEX again due to abusing a CS agent.

Control your temper folks and beware the F/U F/R!

That seems like a massive overreaction and very strange. Are the calls recorded? Maybe the rep made something up to have the cards closed?

(As an aside, another example of offshore workers indirectly causing a company to lose money. When will enterprises learn that offshore is generally a "penny wise, pound short" proposition?)

All calls to major corporations are recorded and saved. I'm sure the actual call was reviewed.

Is there no way to escalate and find out the real reason? Is it against the T&C to abuse an rep? CS reps are professional punching bags.

Yet Amex couldn't find the recording where the Rep promised me a refund of the AF as a retention offer, even though I gave them the exact time of the call, and I had my own recording...

I guess it depends if it suits them...

They definitely can, just a question if they want to.

Chase honored a $100 annual fee on my Club card when a rep promised it to me and I had them pull up the call with the time and rep's name.

Ouch.

Short story, [making it short].

I had a small claims court case where  I got a favorable settlement based on the company I sued own call records.

They initially did not give it to me, but were forced to after trying to make a point thru it to their benefit, but it ultimately proved my point.

Any normal company has the records for a considerable amount of time, the question is, will they work to find it.

Its like @Dan  showing time stamps on his posts to prove a point to TA's.
Always praying for delayed baggage.
