Finally Southwest has made it to Akron! $59 one way to Chicago.
do you think theyll start flying direct to NY ? (take over the airtran flights) if so than it may be better than AA out of cle if your flying with luggage!

Of course they will.
Though those LGA slots are extremely valuable, especially to WN, and with the frum community now flying from CLE instead of CAK I'm not sure CAK-LGA is sustainable.

but with their free baggage policy, it may pull back many of the CLE - AA customers.

just wondering why didnt SW ever fly direct to LGA from CLE?

Because LGA slots cost $$$$$ and WN is a hub and spoke carrier and uses all of their LGA slots for BWI and MDW where their hubs are.

And people get free bags from Citi AA and either way wouldn't shlep to CAK over CLE when CLE is cheaper.

Even for those folks that want to stay in the CAK area?
I know we are a minority.

In the summer we stayed in Akron, had a wedding there, flew into CLE though. Took 20 min from the airport to our hotel, so wasn't bad either way.
CLE would be a better option for you, as it was a cheaper option for me and really not all that bad!!

Not you specifically  you, just the majority of people  in Cle Heights in general. Closer and Avios.
Well sorry it took 25 min, 10 min shorter then google maps told us it should take.
We stayed at the Hilton Akron/Fairlawn

yes for those living in clev. ur right its 25 min to airport instead of 55
and i have a hard time believing it took 25 min unless it was sunday and you were going between 70 and 80 .
but 35 min makes sense.
