To signup for credit cards you can click here or on the “other credit cards” tab on top of the DansDeals logo banner to view links for card offers. Then just click on the link to “View all card offers by issuing bank” and scroll down to view all card offers from the bank of your choice.

Pulls from TU in NJ, NY , FL , PA

Recon 866 408 4064 (might pull from Experian)

For those who want to churn and/or want to get the bonus without paying the annual fee: Wait until the A/F gets charged, pay it off with the rest of the bill, and the sign-up bonus will post (at the end of that billing cycle). Then call to close the account and ask to be refunded. They can't charge an A/F for a card you aren't using. You will not lose the miles once they are in your US Airways account.

It seems that if after you use the card you just let it sit unused for a couple months, they will then email you with a targeted offer for 15,000 more points for spending $750 a month for three months.

do people request a fee waiver when they cancel, or even while keeping it open, they are generous with waiving and refunding the AF?
PUTPAC, see what they offer you, if you don't like it, PUTPAC again.

I got my fee waived after telling them twice about my sincere considerations of closing the card to get the AF refunded.

Said I had a bad experience with usair so I was upset and closed.  Friend just told me it will become aa which I looooove. "Ok then."
Tried that today. Put me on hold and 5 minutes later, they said they we're able to reopen the account. YAY!! :'( :'( :'( (They didn't even confirm with me)

I guess I'll downgrade today and close and reapply in a few days. Hope it will still be available.

Luckily, credit was not pulled.

Now they won't let me downgrade. Spoke to 3 reps already. They said the computer is not giving them any options. They offered to waive the AF. But I'm trying to churn it.
Any ideas?

I was successful on the 5th HUCA after asking for a supervisor. Search up thread for a more detailed report.

Spoke to 2 supervisors already. They said there's nothing available and that they're waiving the fee.

Are you referring to getting annual fee waived, or to getting accepted for an additional card?

He's talking about downgrading the US airways.

Correct.  I downgraded to Arrival-.

Happy conclusion:

I applied for US Airways today. Instant decline.  Called Recon, there was no pull.

"Do you had this card already?"

"I don't think so;)"

"Hmm, that's strange, you dont." (confirmation of MeirS' theory.) Pulled credit,
"Barclays commends you on your ontime payments etc, but too many new accounts. We need to see more history with us."
  Back and forth, got nowhere.
HUCA.  Repeat of above.

"We need to see more history with us."

"My history with other banks is impeccable."

"You have a high balance (about 10k) on a Citi card."

"0% APR promo."

" Can you hold a moment, I'll see what I can do." "OK, we can't extend you anymore credit but we can shift.... 8) 8) 8)"

Similar story to you. After they declined my app for a new card and reinstated my old closed card, they (reps and sups) kept saying that this is the best card for me and no downgrade was available. But on the 6-7th try, a supervisor downgraded me to an Arrival. (She was very reluctant and pathetic trying to stop me. I felt bad for her :) )

The question is, when I reapply and will probably have to call, they will see my app from a few days ago, which was declined due to recently closed card.
If they read the notes, they'll see what happened. Any suggestions?

Highly doubt it. If you try, report back.

So I called the 24hr recon, they said they can't approve the application, since I was approved on November and downgraded to the Arrival  :-[
Maybe the regular recon will be better. (Or maybe it's already in the notes, so I'm out of luck. Either way, I applied on the 15th, so I could reapply after 30 days, as the referral links are valid till the next 18th)

IME, recon rep was unable to see that my Arrival- was downgraded from US Airways, as reported by others.  However, when I call the number on the back my new card and enter my account # it tells me that my account was recently converted to a new account ending in...so I guess it's possible that 24hr recon can see something regular recon can't.  I think it's more likely that since you were approved in Nov, your app was still active in the system and the rep saw it had been approved.
