Recon 866 408 4064 (might pull from Experian)

For those who want to churn and/or want to get the bonus without paying the annual fee: Wait until the A/F gets charged, pay it off with the rest of the bill, and the sign-up bonus will post (at the end of that billing cycle). Then call to close the account and ask to be refunded. They can't charge an A/F for a card you aren't using. You will not lose the miles once they are in your US Airways account.

It seems that if after you use the card you just let it sit unused for a couple months, they will then email you with a targeted offer for 15,000 more points for spending $750 a month for three months.

have her tell them you take care of financial stuff and they'll let you talk for her
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

thankfully my wife was approved instantly
but i need her to call up about getting the fee waived
also, to merge us airways with AA, you need to call up AA and give them your DOB

Guess not. The first seemed to take a minute to "look at my account" and maybe saw it, but the second rep just saw I currently had an arrival and approved the US Air.
Good for you.
I wasn't so lucky. I'll still make another few calls before I give up.

When i tried to churn the card, I was declined. Called recon and they were able to see that I recently had the card and downgraded to arrival. I was told the current 50k offer is for new customers only so they could not approve.
Will HUCA, but has anyone had a similar experience?

How long after the bonus posted did you downgrade? and how long did you wait to apply for a new card.

additionally, is there any difference between downgrading and canceling the card (in terms of ease to get accepted for churn, not credit related...)

downgrade right after the points post, why wait
he was able to churn bc he downgraded so the (dumb) rep saw no record of any us airways card

whats the likelyhood of getting a "dumb" rep? Would it be more worthwhile to cancel. And this might be a rookie question but I thought you should wait 3 months before churning... Does this not apply to barclays?
