To signup for credit cards you can click here or on the “other credit cards” tab on top of the DansDeals logo banner to view links for card offers. Then just click on the link to “View all card offers by issuing bank” and scroll down to view all card offers from the bank of your choice.

For those who want to churn and/or want to get the bonus without paying the annual fee: Wait until the A/F gets charged, pay it off with the rest of the bill, and the sign-up bonus will post (at the end of that billing cycle). Then call to close the account and ask to be refunded. They can't charge an A/F for a card you aren't using. You will not lose the miles once they are in your US Airways account.

It seems that if after you use the card you just let it sit unused for a couple months, they will then email you with a targeted offer for 15,000 more points for spending $750 a month for three months.

The 5K miles cardholder discount on USAirways awards does not show on my Dividend Miles account
Was it discontinued earlier than expected?
I still had it yesterday

Few q's:

I called to ask for AF waived and she said no but applied a deal that for 1K spend I'll get 5K more miles. Will cancelling card trick still work with this deal "applied" to my account (and obviously forget the 5K miles)? Is it just worth it to keep for $89 for 55K miles? What Barclays cards are there to downgrade to?

Certainly. Make sure not to close it before all your miles post to your mileage account.

Probably when the merger with AA is complete. There's no exact date yet. (I think it's supposed to happen in the 2nd quarter of '15)

When you guys are calling to close the card and get the AF waved, are you doing both in the same call?

Also, I queried them regarding the $25 credit for going paperless and he said it won't show up until my February statement. Will it be more challenging to have the AF waved then (vs now)? I was issued the card in December, Jan was my first statement date.

Number in the back of the card. (Or any other Barclay CS number) Same call.

Unlikely you'll get a refund then.

Thanks, Eli. I'll shut the card down on the 15th, when my miles post.

I downgraded and they confirmed by SM that I'm still eligible for the credit. (I don't trust them though. They don't seem to know anything. We'll see what happens)

IMO & IME, most Barclay reps are relatively incompetent :)

has anyone tried downgrading the card via SM to be able to churn for one more time before card goes away?  miles have posted to USAirways account and balance is 0 with fee and purchases paid off.  is it worth taking the chance via SM or best to do over phone?

Is it possible to get approved for one card while other one is still open?  Or is it possible to apply with a 2BM 2 the same cards? Or will a middle name make a difference to get approved while one is open?
