Recon 866 408 4064 (might pull from Experian)

For those who want to churn and/or want to get the bonus without paying the annual fee: Wait until the A/F gets charged, pay it off with the rest of the bill, and the sign-up bonus will post (at the end of that billing cycle). Then call to close the account and ask to be refunded. They can't charge an A/F for a card you aren't using. You will not lose the miles once they are in your US Airways account.

It seems that if after you use the card you just let it sit unused for a couple months, they will then email you with a targeted offer for 15,000 more points for spending $750 a month for three months.

So you downgraded before the bonus posted?

No - I got my bonus already a while ago. Had originally the AF waived but didnt want to go thorugh the troubles of possibly beign rejected for a second US AIR (turns out that would have never been a problem) and wanted to churn it before it goes away.

Ahh, I see. What was your approach to getting the AF waved?

just tried calling to downgrade the card and the woman gave me the story that i would be forfeiting my 50k miles if i did that.  tried getting her to waive and she wouldn't do that either.  got the card in mid december and charged fee on 12/31, paid off fee on 1/2 and paid off balance on 1/5.  first statement closed on 1/3.  she didnt even realize that i paid off fee until i told her.  she was adamant about me losing 50k though.  should i HUCA?  am i doing it too soon since getting the card?
should i not care that the she said i would lose the miles?  can they not take them back once they are in your account?
i really wanted to try and churn before its too late.

any thoughts?

So go ahead and downgrade. If they say you'll lose the miles, say it's fine with you and you have no use for them anyway :)

Once it's in your mileage account you're fine.

Seems so. I have the same issue. No bonus posted yet and bill paid in full.

I've had 2 us cards in the past few months and for the second card and a third app I had to call it in which at that point they didn't want to approve me.
Will putting a different address in the app get me instant processing?

I think it has more to do with SSN than anything else.
