For those who want to churn and/or want to get the bonus without paying the annual fee: Wait until the A/F gets charged, pay it off with the rest of the bill, and the sign-up bonus will post (at the end of that billing cycle). Then call to close the account and ask to be refunded. They can't charge an A/F for a card you aren't using. You will not lose the miles once they are in your US Airways account.

It seems that if after you use the card you just let it sit unused for a couple months, they will then email you with a targeted offer for 15,000 more points for spending $750 a month for three months.

Anyone have success lately with applying for a US airways card while still having one? They're not letting me downgrade
2) I was able to get my wife approved for her second US Airways, while the first was still open. It was an instant approval. She had the card for a little over 4 months.
Not very common though. Did you HUCA ?

"Can I please get my annual fee removed if not I would like to close down this card". Then I spoke to them over the phone and basically said I didn't pay annual fee for aviator card only for us airways card and after some back and forth she gave it to me

I saw in the doctor of credit newsletter that soon Barclays will be accepting new applicants for the aviator card. I was under the impression that you can only get the card if your a Us Airways cardholder, am I wrong or it's just his prediction for the future?

Fee waved under 5 min. Get creative.

That's how all Barclays offers are, they don't post immediately, it'll post in a few months.

Depends when you opened the last one.  I got approved on Thursday, opened last one 13 months ago.  I know others have been able to with less time between applications, but it gets much harder when it's been less than 6 months.

Can you play with the recon, by saying it for different account/business. Has anyone has success with that?

You can try saying different spending.
