For those who want to churn and/or want to get the bonus without paying the annual fee: Wait until the A/F gets charged, pay it off with the rest of the bill, and the sign-up bonus will post (at the end of that billing cycle). Then call to close the account and ask to be refunded. They can't charge an A/F for a card you aren't using. You will not lose the miles once they are in your US Airways account.

It seems that if after you use the card you just let it sit unused for a couple months, they will then email you with a targeted offer for 15,000 more points for spending $750 a month for three months.

I did you different email addresses for the US and NFL. However I did that with the 2nd US air too but denied.
I also added the +4  zip code in the 3rd app  (NFL instant approval).

 I hung up and applied for the NFL $400, why not, they already pulled 30 minutes prior. Instant approval on that with 40k confirmed on account along with my other (still open) NFL $200 account from 2 months ago and my US Air new line approved today.

Do you guys think it was a mistake from my end to not apply for the 40k offer?

Anyone know if the 5000 mile reduction offer (with a cc user) is only good on us airways metal or will it take a 5000 miles reduction on partners like united too? (eg. could i get jfk-sfo in F for 45k?)

Interesting. I think my 60k offer still said you get 40k even for the lower tier.

got this barclays cards and there is a check in the envelope
asked the rep told me that i can write a check for anything and it would be like a crdit card charge with out any fees
so does this simply mean i can pay my citi card bill with this and finished with the 1000 spending??????????????? ;)
