You are grossly underestimating Biden's anyone not being able to save the markets/economy from a MAJOR reset - hence a flip in 2023.
FTFY

Also, I will be shocked if we don't get some form of a VAT being instituted during the next 4 years. Would you rather have the Ds or the Rs enact it?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

And they won't be in power for a long time.

for the next decade or more
FTFY

Funny how @Baruch is saying it'll be over a decade before a republican gets back into power.

Anyone want to guess the last time 2 democratic candidates were elected back to back without the predecessor dying in office? Meaning like Regan-H. W. Bush, 2 republicans that were elected back to back.

Answer below:

(Answer: It's been 164 years, that was Pierce-Buchanan)

Kinda mind blowing.

If he drops ch"v, can Pence run for the re-election? Will he choose Melania as VP?

I actually agree with him on that, but I think that clock may start in 2024.

Not a nice way to talk about anyone.

We've witnessed horrible things from this virus. It's in poor taste to joke about it killing more.

Doesn't need to drop. What happens if he can't run, for whatever reason? I don't believe Pence automatically gets the nomination, and the ballots have already gone out.

I'm davening for his recovery and success in the election and hence said 'ch"v'. It's just an interesting hypothetical.

It's actually a potential parachute for him if he feels the odds are against him. He can spare himself the embarrassed of losing to slow Joe.

You are grossly underestimating Biden's ability to fail and crash the economy.
The way Obama/Biden crashed the economy last time?

the Dems won 4 elections in a row with FDR on the ticket, so a slightly dishonest statistic

Without the successor dying in between, takes away the elections of Truman and LBJ. So the Dems winning 5 elections in a row and LBJs are being deducted. This stat is almost meaningless.

What's dishonest about it?

Side point, not that it needs to be mentioned, because there is nothing inaccurate about the statistic. Incumbent presidents have a huge advantage over any opponent.

The successor never died, but whatever lets you sleep at night.

If you can't appreciate how cool that statistic is, you are either tunnel vision blind, or don't appreciate US history. imho.

sorry, I didnít mean the successor.

Itís cool, but meaningless regarding modern day politics.

CMIIW, but if you looks at almost the whole  last century back to FDR, with all your criteria, neither party has done it besides Reagan/H.W. So itís not a Democrat party problem.

And if you take away all your limiting criteria, and look at the party in power the Dems have done it much more than the GOP.

Itís very easy to look at a set of data, and then create criteria to get an big stat. The kuntz is to create the criteria and then look at the data. Highly doubt that was done here.
