Ever since this thread has been opened the amount of hate through each thread is disgusting. I think the time has come to lock and delete these threads and keep one open for Tehillim and thats it. Enough is enough. Klal Yisroel is suffering enough.

If this board saves one more life, would you change your mind?

What is more dangerous to Klal Yisroel? Sinas Chinam or putting a mask?

The most sinas chinam I've seen on these boards came from a thread on the Destination Guides And Trip Planning board. Getting rid of the Covid board won't solve our problems in that area, unfortunately. If anything, it has helped me personally understand other people's positions, and while I may not like those positions, I can respect certain people/communities a little more because of that knowledge.

Also, you can't boil down the valuable information on the Covid board to 'putting on a mask." People have changed their approach to the virus because of this board. Shuls and communities have taken precautions more seriously because of it. I know of one shul that had 2 people test positive right after RH. Because of the precautions they took due to info from DDF, they had not a single case of community spread from those 2 cases. Don't underestimate the value here.

You're going down a dangerous road with your conclusions.

Remember: correlation ≠ causation.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

I don't harbor an ounce of sinah chas v'shalom towards people who refuse to take basic precautions and thereby are causing unnecessary pain and maybe even worse, not to mention being wholly responsible for any new shutdowns. I think they are silly, misguided, short sighted, wrong, misled and many other descriptions, but not an ounce of sinah. So I don't think that's what's preventing moshiach from coming.

Maybe another option in the poll should be that there should be a moderator who sets the rules of dialogue and only approves posts that follow that.

Personally, I wish I had such a good handle on all my ma'asim and all my interpersonal interactions that I was able to point to (mostly) civil disagreements on a discussion board as something that is preventing moshiach from coming.

'Chinam' literally means for no reason.

משנאיך ה׳ אשנא.

Sounds to me like the OP's latest excuse to deny reality is that the conversation shouldn't be taking place.

I have no idea, but I bet if this forum was no longer anonymous you would see quite a different approach from just about everyone. Perhaps, that's the biggest problem of all - the double standard that some abide by - they preach one way in public but feel and act very differently in private.

Many on here are far from anonymous.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

I always thought that way until FB groups took off.
The discource here is far more civil and requires much less moderation.
Go figure!
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Maybe certain people will just not go on FB no matter what. Those that don't set that boundary upon themselves might lack other boundaries too.
