How to get more from airline mistakes

I was recently on a delta flight from Sacramento to lax ( about an hour flight). It was delayed for about 3 hours due to heavy fog, I just got an apology from them and they gave me 25k bonus miles,     
Does anyone have experience in these cases? Am I able to get more miles from them? Or should I quit while I am ahead

Hows AA with comp. I had a flt ewr-lax that got cancelled for no reason was rerouted lga-ord-lax and was offered no comp. at the aa desk or lounge since I was giving a flight less then 12 hrs later, who would I call for the best comp.

I'd say 25k is very good when you're dealing with  a weather issue.  They usually won;t give you anything when it comes to weather.

Honestly I didn't think they would give me anything, I just got an email. I was thinking maybe saying something like I missed a huge meeting...

Isn't there like a law that if u get delayed for more than 2 hrs or something they have to compensate something
