You can 'sync' your Amex card with your 4sq account on your computer, and then the specials will show in the 4sq app on your phone (and possibly at m.foursquare.com in your browser).

the specials don't show on the mobile website.  i'm hopeful you can still checkin from the mobile website and that will count.

So, you should be able checkin with a Treo (my example) and have that "special" loaded onto your card.  Just have to remember the places with specials yourself.  mobile website also doesn't show your saved lists (unless they've hidden it well) so that's kind of a pain.

You have to manually load the specials through the foursquare app

I don't have a smartphone so I went on to mfoursquare.com  and searched venue "flatbush food coop" I found it and checked in but I didn't see the amex offer. If I go tonight and spend $10 at this store will I get the the $10 credit? Must it say amex special on the mfoursquare venue site? I did get the $25 SBS credit from this store.

Where in 4sq do you see the confirmation? I checked in on my phone at a participating merchant and didn't get anything.

I couldn't find it on my phone either , when I logged in from a computer I saw the message in my notifications

On the iPod app to get to your notifications click the bar on top that says foursquare with the speech bubble next to it

Gah, I don't have any notifications. I got the confirmation email that my Amex card (the one I paid with at the merchant) is registered for this promotion. The merchant had this special showing for their location on 4sq.

You got a confirmation email from amex on the specific promo? I just got that my card is synced and got confirmation from 4SQ

You made sure to load the special to card first or did it from a comp and weren't able to? either way amex is great with giving credit for your mistakes just might take a phone call

Turns out I got a confirmation that I'm synced (and two emails from 4sq, one welcoming me and the other asking me to verify my email).

I sent a message from the customer svc page. I don't think I loaded it (properly).
