There was almost zero negative reporting over the fact that this man was responsible for the deaths of thousands of senior citizens.
This is a fiction. Every part of the saga was reported. Of course the media is biased and didn't cover it as much as Fox did or as much as you think they should, but it isn't motivated by a desire to protect Cuomo, it's for the simple reason that if CNN would harp on whining about Cuomo people would switch the channel. Their customers simply don't want to hear it.
I never claimed the media wasn't biased. I just think the liberal media being biased isn't having that much of an impact on shaping voter opinion. Anybody who keeps up with the news is fully aware of everything Cuomo did. The left legitimately sees it all differently and doesn't think Cuomo is the demon you think he is. I for example am well aware of everything you are about Cuomo and still think overall he was one of the most important people to the American response. If their opinion isn't based on a lack of information, how does a biased media affect it?
This isn't about government having a say in religious matters or stopping sins. It's about government proactively changing it's laws to certify whatever behavior some people would like to call marriage. That's a huge step forward than just saying "Govt shouldn't enforce".
And your analogy of what if the government chooses to recognize only wedding conducted in a church while not recognizing rabbinical ones is faulty. That would be simple discriminating against one religion. The proper liberal idea would be that government shouldn't recognize marriages of neither religion and only civil marriages. But I would be ok with that.
What if most of the country CH"V would only agree to recognize marriages between 2 people of the same country. Would you not think refusing to acknowledge a union between man and woman is unfair?
Any distinction between the two is based on religion and the government shouldn't be deciding this way or that way. It should stay out of it
