My cr@ppy insurance told me only one COVID test would be covered, and wouldn't specify over what period of time, whether it was per exposure/ bout of symptoms, or whether they'd cover one PCR and one antibody or just one total.

I just go down to the local public hospital where there's no wait and I can theoretically get a daily PCR or antibody test (but not both) at no cost. I don't even think they attempt to bill my insurance.
My wife did Rite Aid PCR testing. They didn't ask for insurance info.

Specific to Ohio perhaps? And/or Rite Aid had ins. on file?

You're probably not on the Cadillac plan called Medicaid.

In any event, in NYC there are plenty of places you can get a free PCR test without insurance. There are 11 locations citywide where one can get a free antibody test. Most conveniently located one is at 333 Roebling.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Vouchers is a big chunk of it, but it's certainly more than just that.
For doctors/lawyers, jobs are very good and their salary simply goes much further.
It's a great place to raise kids. Plus it's probably the closest drive to NYC from a Jewish community in a Red state?
Interesting; I'm curious if there's a spreadsheet which compares the frum COL in CLE vs NY metro?

Not sure I understand your point of being a Red State. Blue states are usually more generous with fiscal benefits for the frum community. If the goal is to get your vote to count on a federal level, Philly is a closer drive...

Kings County Hospital apparently does free walk-in antibody testing, and it's a 10 minute walk for me.

Was a joint venture between Rite Aid and Project Baseline. Doesn't seem like there's any charge.

Lower taxes and less of a nanny state?

I don't know how you spreadsheet something like this, there are varying standards for COL and not everything can be compared apples-to-apples (e.g. someone in a 2br apartment in NY would likely choose something different in CLE).

Just a lack of a super-spreader. Same reason COVID was in the US since January but didn't get bad until March.
So you're going with the theory that a lock down since January would've been a good idea? Look at Israel now

Probably been done here, which is where this fork belongs: https://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=21675.0

Depends what benefits you're looking for, but Red State as far as business regulations, personal regulations, government interference, taxation, school vouchers, etc.

Both times I was there I was in and out in less than 10 minutes and the only person I came within six feet of was the nurse who swabbed me. I wasn't particularly concerned of catching COVID just from going there.

I was looking for that thread! Thought it would have "out of town/OOT" in the name!

Ah good, was getting worried that it's been a few posts since we had the "shut everything or open everything" argument.

Maybe it's the wrong medical office, rather than the plan.
