I’d guess the rationale for bars is that later in the evening people are likely to be more inebriated and bars more likely to be full (after work/supper), so greater spread is more likely.
Gyms? Baffling.
Was just going to ask the same thing re gyms.
The alcohol thing I kinda get, but it raises a bunch of questions, too. Is it any kind of liquor license, or only hard liquor? If a restaurant serves beer and wine, is that included? I wonder how many restaurants drop the liquor license in order to stay open those few extra hours a day, especially with much of the competition closed.
