I disagree about his level of self-awareness. I think he really believes he managed Covid better than anyone, hence the national Covid consultancy tour. He's got to know that a second wave could make him look like a fool, and he keeps doubling down.

I’d guess the rationale for bars is that later in the evening people are likely to be more inebriated and bars more likely to be full (after work/supper), so greater spread is more likely.

 The alcohol thing I kinda get, but it raises a bunch of questions, too. Is it any kind of liquor license, or only hard liquor? If a restaurant serves beer and wine, is that included? I wonder how many restaurants drop the liquor license in order to stay open those few extra hours a day, especially with much of the competition closed.

Not likely in NY, they’re very costly and difficult to obtain.

As has been stated before, there's obviously no real science behind this (or a lot of other stuff Cuomo does) especially when you see them lumping restaurants and bars together with gyms??? 

There's an obvious uptick in cases and this control freak needs to show he is in absolute control and is doing SOMETHING (anything) in order to tell you that THIS is and/or will stop the spread .

Just listened to his conference call from today. It’s really incredible how he blames the Staten Island outbreak on being close to NJ and the port Chester outbreak on being close to CT. But when it came to the Jews, it was all their fault..
