Revisionist history. BS. Never happened. Things were fully closed for less than a month.

What are you talking about, things were absolutely shut down. If you recall, we've been in agreement on most Covid related stuff, but I argued at the end of April (iirc) that they had better tone down the extreme lockdown or people will throw out ALL precautions.

How did that turn out? It took a certain meshugeneh who "had just enough" to unlock playgrounds. I wonder what ever happened with him?

If u live in a bubble where no one around you  listens to rules, its ur problem, but that doesn't mean no one Ultra Orthodox is not and never did listen.

There were plenty of reports here of shuls and schools in BP/Willi opening after a few weeks off. @hvaces42 offered some real time reports of him fighting with them at the time IIRC.
But to say it never shut down is wrong.

There were plenty of reports here of shuls and schools in BP/Willi opening after a few weeks off.
But to say it never shut down is wrong.

1) There are hundreds (if not thousands) of shuls and schools in the greater NYC area (including 5towns, westchester, etc). A huge majority of them were completely closed from a week after purim until shavuos time. Here in the 5towns, schools did not reopen until this year.
2) Anybody that thinks that everybody else aside from the ultra-orthodox (whatever that means) in NY and NJ are in full compliance in regards to mask and SD, obviously doesn't live here.

Completely based on my recollection of DDF reports from the time, but it didn't seem like it was just "some" if you're talking about BP/Wili a month after shutdown.

People speaking about some Shuls or schools that were not shut down as being in any way significant, especially in comparison to other communities, obviously have no idea how many thousands of mosdos they're are in NY. The percentage which didn't close is tiny

Yes there were many shuls open the entire time, but many and most big ones were closed, And schools were fully closed for a few weeks

Keep in mind that on every block there is five shuls and they are all independent

Like @Yehuda57 mentioned, perhaps "some" shuls opened underground. In that place there were hundreds if not thousands that remained shuttered. And even if some opened secretly their attendance was nowhere near what it was usual. Most ppl were still davening biyechidus.

You’re dead wrong. The mass noncompliance re: masks and SD in our community is unrivaled in the tri-State area. I live here and am around, like all of you.

It actually just was "some" based on percentages of shuls in these neighborhoods. And like I said schools were completely shut for even longer.

And even if it was closed for just a month (which it wasn't) doesn't give Cuomo permission to say we NEVER followed the rules.  That 1 month nixes that argument.
