I received a targeted offer in the mail from AMEX offering a $25 statement credit for every $50 spent at any of 8 local restaurants that are part of a certain restaurant group in San Diego (before December 29, 2011).  It says I can take advantage of the offer for each card in my name and that it can be used up to eight times (to get a $200 credit).

It's not very clear as to whether I would need to make 8 separate charges of $50 to get the full $200 credit or whether one charge of $400 would get the credit.  It's also not clear if this applies to cards in which I'm an authorized user (they're in my name, but not my accounts).

Anyone else seen this and been successful getting others (spouse and family members) to benefit from this offer?
