As is I always wanted to get rid of this card from my wallet. Now they helped me do the rest.

Literally an overkill for a $250 AF.

Possible they're replacing the credit with something more practical?
Still looking for a good MS method :)

You don't max out 4x on $25k at grocery?
Risk is opportunity

With so many cards offering 5% never had time to play with that perk.

Totally agree, barely any use to this card at all.

American Express is partnering with Uber to bring the new $120 Uber Cash benefit to the American Express Gold Card. Starting in early 2021, Gold Card Members will receive $10 in Uber Cash each month for Uber Rides or Uber Eats orders in the U.S. That’s up to $120 in annual savings. Card Members will receive more information once the benefit is available.

I've only got retention coming up for Green and Schwab Platinum... Gold doesn't do much for those of us outside the U.S., and if this change is true, even less so now.

How much do you spend on the card?

I honestly don't recall, but since the pandemic the spend has been quite minimal at $150 tops a month, but usually around $20.

Before, I was probably putting a good $1-1.5K on it each month, if not more.

The offer will allow me to downgrade CSR for a year and retain 3X travel/dining (plus Amex partners are better excluding Hyatt).
