Except for all those cases from shuls over RH... or the cases from schools... or the offices...
RH put about 50 of our shull in a positive mode, bh they all recovered most were back by sukkos

There was a list of those 12 that didn't get it yet they shouldn't dance together on S'T

This is exactly my point. Shuls that weren't taking precautions had major spread early in Tishrei,  minimizing the damage later in the month. And (some of) those who didn't get it by Succos took some precautions.

My shul were about 25% positive and had no major precautions over ST and BH no cases reported because of it. I am sure that's what happened with a lot of shuls

Do you mind sharing a few details? Location? Average age? Size? 25% positive over the last 2 months, or since Purim?

EY. About 80 men + women and children. Average age around 30. I would say 25% positive - maybe slightly higher, since Purim

Interesting. Based on the age, is it possible more people had it, but were asymptomatic? I'm assuming no one is really doing antibodies testing.

Your guess is as good as mine... A lot of ppl have told me that for a few days they weren't feeling well, had diarrhea, feeling weak, nauseas etc or had other minor symptoms for 3-4 days but they never got tested. They could have easily had it but then again everyone feels like this from time to time long before we had heard of corona....

I'd be very curious to see antibodies results for your shul.

Likewise. Have you had corona personally?

Doesn't seem to be from schools:

Again, I don't think anyone believe schools cause spikes, but they most definitely contribute to spread, especially in areas where the virus is already prevalent.

The article specifically quotes that in NYC schools there were only 28 positives out of 16k+ tests. And the virus is prevalent here.

And if schools contribute to the spread wouldn't you think that would cause a spike?

But we can agree to disagree :).

Only 28 kids tested positive while they were *in* school. I highly doubt only 28 school aged children tested positive...and they may have contracted it while attending school.

Exactly. The point is that even though they were all attending school only 28 tested positive.

Also it actually says 28 people, doesn't specify if they were children or staff and it says both were tested and included in that 16k count.

I can tell you that I know more than 28 kids who are presumed to have caught it in school in Lakewood over the last month and a half.

We will know definitively about schools very soon because Ireland instituted a general lockdown but left schools open

If that's the case why should everyone be careful if 90%+ had it already

1) I don't know that 90%+ had it. I'm theorizing that in shuls where people were already not being careful, most people got it, thereby lowering the possibility for further spread.
2) Immunity is thought to last between 3-24 months, with most people losing it around 12 months, give or take a few months. However, reinfections have started happening. Just because you got it during the first wave, doesn't mean you can't get it again now or in the next few months. And just because you were fine the first time, doesn't mean the second time will go the same way.
3) Not everyone got it, even if most did. Be respectful of other people's health. That doesn't mean close the shul. It just means take some basic precautions.

Ok and your point being? All I was doing was quoting what that article stated - 28 positive out of 16k+ tests on students and staff in NYC public schools.
