El Al knows very well that no travel agent will market their product today without a big incentive. El Al also knows that TAs are very influencial in pushing the masses one direction or the other. Some TAs have no issues marketing an $1800 "open ticket" to a student, over a $1,000 ticket on UA with free changes.... See DDMS article on the topic...

I have no clue.

But just as a reminder, OTAs are also travel agents. Just with a website. LY needs to pay them a commission just like every travel agent. They only save when someone books directly on their site.

I don't see the option on their website. And it doesn't come up via Skyscanner either when searching J.

Btw, Gulliver is taking a loss on these tickets. But they obviously decided to use this as an opportunity for publicity, rather than to make an instant profit as LY had intended.

Looking at the schedule for BKK in 2021, they still advertize 11h flight duration westbound and 11:20 eastbound.

Did they not read about KSA overfly?
