Again, those are local decisions, not US policy.
I didn't say it was US policy, just a mentality in many many places across the USA.

*Israel closed schools during their spike. That's the only data I have.

That's a start :).

To me Israel's behavior to the chareidi community has been the same or worse than New York's. I understand that the school closures may have been countrywide but there could very well be hidden motivations... Who knows? (Shrug 🤷‍♀️)

A lot of that is due to fearmongering by government and union officials.

Exactly. One of my employees said they would have loved to opt in for in person learning every day of the week but they were very strongly pushed to opt into remote and they're always complaining about it.

Sorry, but you just pulled that out from where the sun don't shine. People have a variety of reasons for choosing remote learning.

Oh come on, I didn't say everyone, but the fact is government and union officials are fighting tooth and nail to keep schools closed and it's propped up by the media.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

You're assumption that schools in Europe will be closed just like schools in the US was pulled out from where the sun don't shine.

I didn't assume that at all. I asked for data. All I said was I'm assuming nothing from a country-wide policy.

What does that have to do with people opting for remote learning?

I haven’t been following closely but I believe Germany and Ireland are keeping schools open while shutting down most of everything else. I think France & Italy are closing schools too.

You're the one making the claim that schools are really closed, the onus is on you to bring the evidence.

I've been listening to the media in the NYC area for a long time, if I didn't know otherwise I'd think it's really dangerous for schools to be open and the ones who are opening schools have blood on their hands.

I think a lot of school closures in the US are on a very local level. I don't know that European countries saying they are keeping schools open is any different than Trump saying we're keeping schools open. It's possible there are no closures in the whole Europe, I just haven't seen anything on the subject other than statements from heads of state.
Again, those are local decisions, not US policy. I don't know that things are any different in Europe. If anyone has data on that, please post it.

In both of those posts, you'll see the words "I don't know." Let me translate for you: ANI LO YODEAH. ICH VAIST NISCHT. YO NO SE.

All I was saying was we're comparing apples to oranges. Schools in the US are open on a National level. They are then ruled by state, county, and city/local laws and regulations. I DO NOT KNOW how things work in Europe, but it would make sense to me if they have similar, more localized, structure in place. If someone has data on that, we can compare.

New York City’s entire public school system will shutter on Thursday, Chancellor Richard A. Carranza wrote in an email to school principals, in a worrisome signal that a second wave of the coronavirus has arrived. Schools have been open for in-person instruction for just under eight weeks.

The shutdown — which was prompted by the city reaching a 3 percent test positivity rate over a seven-day rolling average — is perhaps the most significant setback for New York’s recovery since the spring, when the city was a global epicenter of the outbreak.

A delta between public and private schools isn't sustainable. More likely that private schools will close than public schools will open. The numbers aren't going down anytime soon.

Private schools are gonna have a fit. 2 weeks ago he was pushing a surgical approach when our numbers were a bit worse than the region, and now suddenly that our numbers are better he's pushing a nondiscriminatory nuclear approach.
