My insurance premiums are going up a lot in 2021. I wanted to checkin to see if this was just me, or if this is an everyone problem.

COVID will probably impact this more than previous years as they seem to be covering all or most costs.

Someone didn't make it past kindergarten? Can't count higher than 10?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

As the general health of the nation has gotten better overall (compared to previous decades), to what do attribute the rise in health insurance costs?

Was a serious question...you're saying it's gone up for multiple decades.

22 years ago it was at $5, now it's at $25 for me.

Only started paying for the same plan about 10 years ago (probably more like 12). Before that I was living in EY and then in different states so hard to compare. I figured it was probably many more years but don't like talking unless I know.  But ty for letting OP know it's been way more than 10 years.

For some odd reason I thought we were talking about co-pays.

That's part of the overall cost. Those went up in order to keep the premiums from going even higher. (You can still buy plans with low co-pays, but most people don't, because it doesn't make economic sense unless one knows that they will have excessive use of medical services).

P.s. You had me looking twice to figure out what was going on here. 😀
