Trump just announced he will *not* create a new party, saying “It would only divide our vote”.

I don’t believe he will. But I think many are wishfully underestimating his influence on the Republican Party.
He has full control of the party.

From this AM: Former President Trump will deliver remarks at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Sunday afternoon. The former president is scheduled to take the stage at 3:40 p.m. Sunday.

According to early reports, Trump will look ahead to the midterm elections in 2022 and the presidential election in 2024.

He will likely run in 2024, win the nomination. And depending on how bad the Dems screw the US he can win.

I don’t see Trump winning in 2024 unless somehow Biden is still in office and won’t give it up while his mental health deteriorates to a point where it’s impossible to hide it anymore.
Trump lost too much support on Jan 6th to win a national election.

That would never happen. Kamala would invoke the 25th and Trump (or whoever) would run against her.

Correct. Harris will be running in 2024.

1) I think you're overestimating how much support he lost.
2) The Ds decided to impeach him, that only made him stronger.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Which may have been the purpose.

That already backfired on them in 2016

Or Dr. Jill. She'll have 4 years of experience as acting President by then...

1) I think you're overestimating how much support he lost.

Considering that he lost this election, having lost anything at all can be too much. He definitely lost SOME support from those on the borders. That would make it entirely dependent on the Dems losing support for him to win.

Inspired by this post:
If (when?) Trump loses, would he be the favorite to win it all in 2024? I say probably yes. Reasons:

1) Trump would probably be the favorite to get the R nomination, as Pence would presumably not want to challenge him directly and he’s extremely polarizing with a solid committed base. Might scare off other serious contenders.
2) Biden/Harris are nearly guaranteed to be presiding over a poor economy, feeling the true effects of 1-2 years of COVID and its accompanying effects, along with quite predictable policy decisions.
3) People are likely to remember Trump somewhat more favorably in hindsight than they do now, where he’s at a relative low in his presidency because of COVID and some recent mistakes. He’ll probably be remembered for the excellent economy he had for most of his tenure.
Um. No.

BetMGM: Trump right now in second place at +225 trailing Biden narrowly at +175

Where have all the Trump supporters gone?

Perhaps for this moment are Biden, Sullivan, and Blinken in power?
