I stressed that we're obviously not talking of WW2 here.
The Bais Halevi lived 50 years before WW2, nor am I aware of him escaping Volozhin and Brisk in his lifetime for any given reason.
Throughout history it would be more safe when the Jew would dress like the Pol, Frenchman etc. Definitely more importantly than nowadays.
The BH and WW2 were meant as 2 separate incidents. He left Russia shortly after his divorce and learnt with R Shlomo Kluger for a year or so.
I was not advocating doing that now. He brought in Europe and my response was, if necessary, there's nothing wrong. I do not know the particulars of their situation. Just saying there could be a situation that warrants it.
The fact that a PM or someone else in a position of power suggests it, does not mean that now you can't do it. Obviously if not necessary then don't change.
