Tzedaka via smile.amazon.com?

Long time DansDeals user, rare poster.  I just realized that I've barely been using my smile.amazon.com account since I've mostly been using links directly from DansDeals.  Is there a reason DansDeals defaults to amazon.com rather than to smile.amazon.com if that would automatically mean a fair amount of $$ would be directed toward chessed/charity/worthwhile causes?

This has been discussed before. You can keep his referral and still do smile. I am guessing that he can't use that as his published link as part of the referral agreement  or the like and that this is why he doesn't do that standard

It seems from https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/help/node/topic/202049200 than smile donations do not affect affiliate commission.

How do I keep his link and do smile? Usually (when not buying through dansdeals) I add to cart and then load smile.amazon from the url.

Does it cause you any issues if people add the smile links themselves before purchase?

It's a question of who you want to support. Affiliate commission is better than .5%, so you're generating more money by using affiliate links for the affiliate than you do by using smile link, so it's a question of how much better of a cause do you consider the charity. Of course, you can personally use both, but if everyone would do that the affiliate may be removed from program.
