Obviously depends what you need. The Werner ladder is likely much lighter too.

Nope. If you just plan on using around the house you don't need a 18ft ladder

This is like asking why would anyone want a screwdriver if you can get a multi-tool.
Sometimes, simpler is easier to use. Especially if you are just planning on using it for a specific task, like building a sukkah. It's easier to fold and take in and out to adjust things.

this ones 25 pounds the other is 30
and when its at its smaller size its only 4.5 feet, even smaller than the "regular" one
obv if u have no use for it at all its not for you but seems like its worth it for the possibilities

I've seen them and the folding mechanism is multi-step. Not easy for maneuvering in and out of a sukkah.

Thanks for explaining. In this case I am unsure of whether to buy the multi-tool (gorilla) or the screwdriver (simple ladder) being that the cost difference isn't that huge and the mult-tool seems to have tremendous range of functionality. I appreciate your opinion. Is it really that much easier? It seems like the gorilla is pretty simple too.

It's heavy. It's hard to open up to use it.  It's almost worthless to me.
