Any silver linings in a Biden/Harris administration?
« on: November 04, 2020, 07:34:39 PM »
The one thing that comes to mind, is that it will definitely cure the Frum community from the politics bug. I think most here would agree that it was getting out of hand.

Trump 2024 may make everything much worse.

For many it's the "Kosher" version of sports.

1) But then everyone will complain why the frum oilam has such low turnout.

2)The young guys with the huge flags joining the rallies are mostly the chilled out guys & many are avid sports fans.

I think this is actually an election that will affect the frum community.

1. America's stance with Israel. Too many of Harris' buddies are ok with BDS etc.  I don't see them being nearly as kind to Israel as Trump was
1.1 Israel peace with Arab countries which affects how we are viewed when we travel or interact with people from these countries

2. Antisemitism will rise. This will be due to liberals in charge. I dont think Biden is at all anti Semitic, although I think he has twisted ideology,  I'm concerned about Kamala. I don't care that she married a jew. I view her as someone that will really try to stir the pot whenever possible.  And with Biden going to his basement in 6-12 months, this will affect us greatly.

3. Our view in the world. In the beginning of Trumps days he was a laughing stock, but pretty soon the international community saw that he means business.  This got us some no BS credibility back

I am overall concerned  and uncertain. But not overly scared. Thank God for our electoral system, the president is not a dictator

I don't think Biden will get rid of the tariffs so quickly, but if he does it will be upon signing a terrible deal with China.

1. This is why Trump 2016 was so important. While Biden would've never been good for Israel like Trump, I can't see Biden rolling things backward to pre-Trump.

2. Liberal anti-semitism wasn't kept in check during Trumps tenure, much of it is local and nothing to with the President (otherwise anti-semitism would be nearly gone).

1. He can roll back some minor things like opposing settlements in Israel. And also he won't move forward with more peace initiatives that ultimately makes Israel look good.

2. Liberal antisemitism gets worse when the higher ups have no problem turning a blind eye

Can you imagine if all of the frum politics followers were sports fans?

I don't think Biden will get rid of the tariffs so quickly, but if he does it will be after Hunter signs a business deal with China.

I see this as a city/state issue, Cuomo or Deblasio were able to incite plenty of anti-semitism despite (perhaps to spite) our president.

One silver lining is reduced radicalism and toned down rhetoric leading into the 2024 elections. 4 more years of Trump, especially Trump not needing to be re-elected, would have ratcheted up the far-left's insanity to extremely uncomfortable levels.
