I did the reservation from my car yesterday, via log me in on my iphone so I couldn't read all the fine print... the car I rented was a manual car.. this morning back in my office I tried it again & it came up for $42 for the week two steps up & automatic... how would I post this so Dan sees I think it is a deal others should know about....

Looks like you have never rented before in Israel, so let me explain you, in Israel you must buy insurance for car rentals, Period. even if you have CDW from CC you still need to buy LI, so here is the breakdown for your "DEAL" $42.00 base rate, (If you dont pick or drop in the airport) + $12.00 a day LI insurance (if you have CDW on your CC) x 7 is a total of $126.00 what is the regular rate for the cheapest car in Israel without CDW.

Can anyone get a descent price for a car these days.. Noach car said went back up to more then 50$ a day! And sold out at Avis...

One is an american and one is student visa. Can I have the one who is American book both and just put the student visa one as a second driver to avoid taxes?

No, I have no way of knowing which driver is the student. Adding the student as additional driver will require you to pay tax for that car.
