Is it cheaper to work  through a Hertz special offer with Ruth Rimonim (Tsfat)? going up Jan 16-18 and would take a car, but the hotel has a deal where the car (a small mazda 2) is an extra $50 for keeping it for my whole 3 day weekend. could someone beat that (i guess my only issue is that a mazda 2 is prob too small for me, my wife and our 5 and 6 yr old kids plus all our luggage, but how big do i need)? please pm me if you think you have a better deal for me (i have a sapphire preferred mastercard).

Hocker should change his name to "hookUup" he just hooked me up with a really sweet deal on a Toyota verso. $54 a day $18 for Shabbos almost 2 week rental with option to extend for as long as i want. The cheapest I found by any ligit company was $68. Thanks Hocker, I will continue to use you in the future!
Please CMIIW, but isn't Hotwire much cheaper than the prices you quoted?

Hotwire's prices many times aren't honored by the location in addition to the fact that you MUST add CDW, TP and TPPD insurance. (CDW & TP may be covered by WMC if you have one.)

Someone just recently posted how he got screwed up with using EuropCar in TLV by booking with one of the US websites. (Sorry too lazy to search right now on my mobile)

Don't you have to pay "CDW, TP and TPPD insurance." (whatever TP, TPPD stand for) either way, whomever you book with?  Besides for the WMC factor...

Also, you can choose which company to book with, they usually quote prices from reputable companies like Avis, Sixt, Budget, etc etc.  Don't they honor?

Yes, but with an agent it's included in the price. TP= Theft Protection, TPPD= Liability

Europcar is also a reliable company elsewhere in the world. In Israel ALL companies play with their own set of rules because they are franchises and will not honor reservations if they aren't making enough $.

So you mean, the price(s) you quote(d), are WYSIWYG, not a penny more charged?  No taxes, airport fees, CDW etc etc?

Yes. besides VAT which tourists don't pay and I (we) assume every quote request here for TLV is a tourist unless otherwise noted.
